A detail of a painted cabinet. The decoration required extensive retouching where it had been badly scratched and worn away, also the pine carcase had shrunk lifting the paint from the surface in patches.
Great care was taken to re-attach the original finish before we could retouch the missing areas. We used acrylic colours as they will not interfere with the original paint and are reversible.
The cabinet was part gilded which we cleaned, then re-gilded the missing sections.
